BIO
Pyramid Park is an indie pop artist based in the east of the UK. Losing his father aged 11 propelled McAllen to create music as a form of therapy. Years later Pyramid Park has toured over ten countries, performed more than 30 festivals and had multiple local BBC introducing radio spots. His music has been placed on retail store playlists across the UK, including Next and Boots. Pyramid Park will release his third album Cyclones & Silence in February 2025, with a series of five singles beforehand. Cyclones & Silence was recorded at GloWormRecording, Glasgow by Iain Hutchison.
Cyclones & Silence: the album
"Six months after an epic adventure to Queenstown New Zealand, I took a call no one ever wants to receive. My New Zealand-based mother-in-law had terminal cancer" states Pete McAllen, the man behind Pyramid Park. "Like any significant moment, I recall the exact place where I stood, taking the call, heart dropping and racing home to be with my shell-shocked wife. As an 11-year-old I had lost my dad three weeks after his cancer diagnosis. These memories returned, as I grappled with the connection, knowing what might be facing us. Perhaps it was inevitable that I would song write more extensively on grief. But this would be in real-time, from diagnosis through to her passing and painful processing of the following months. I never intended to write an album, only to write my way through the pain as a form of therapy."
Two years later the forthcoming album Cyclones & Silence features five singles (released monthly September - January) before the full album release on 7th February 2025.
